Sherbrook Apartments
Immediately adjacent to Wayne State University’s campus in Detroit, this turn of the century complex was completely rehabilitated into 14 distinctive apartments. Special attention was paid to the historical restoration of elements throughout the building including windows, fireplace mantles and surrounds, trim, interior and exterior railings, French doors and flooring – wood, terrazzo and marble. Due to extended periods of vacancy and neglect, the facility required extensive structural repair as well; all of which had to be accomplished “creatively” while maintaining the original main stair and hall layouts mandated by tax credit requirements.
