The Plaza

Originally constructed in 1964, the historic renovation of the 12 story building at 3800 Woodward Avenue, better known as the “Hammer and Nail” Building for its iconic neon signage, was a 12 story, 72 unit luxury apartment development. The building features expansive glass facades, high ceilings, state of the air HVAC systems, and stunning views. All mechanical and electrical systems in the building were replaced and updated. All of the glass on the all- glass exterior elevations of the building were replaces as well. The interior was completely gutted and rebuilt. In total, the building is a bit over 100,000 square feet of space. Construction costs was about $15,000,000. Time of construction was about 14 months. Besides the 72 apartments, the building will soon be home to a high end dining establishment that will occupy the first floor. With its unbeatable views, luxury appointments, and prime location the Plaza is the premier residential in Midtown Detroit.
